Obesity and Weight Loss

Are you suffering because you are overweight or obese? Are you unhappy with your personal appearance and are you frustrated that you have not been able to lose weight in the past? 

Statistics from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimate that one third of American adults are obese. Other related studies suggest that:

  • It is likely that two in three adults are considered to be overweight.
  • It may be that one in six children ages 6 to 19 are obese.
  • About one-third of children ages 6 - 19 are considered to be overweight.

 Of course there are many health concerns related to being overweight and obese. These include a greater risk of:

  • Type Two Diabetes
  • Stroke
  • Some Cancers
  • Depression

Aside from health related risks, who want to walk around carrying excess weight and feeling a lack of energy. Why do we need to feel persistently fatigued when it is not necessary to endure this kind of suffering? Although there is some conflicting information regarding obesity, most individuals respond extremely well when they are able to make life style changes. Individual counseling can be very valuable in helping individuals change their behavior so that they can feel better about themselves and live a happier and more productive life.
